Fall 2019: An Evening of One Acts, Session 1
The older students continue to move into challenging territory, with our two, one act play production. This is a 20 week program, we divide it into two sessions (fall and winter/spring).
The two one acts:
The Actor's Nightmare
George Spelvin wakes up and realizes he is in several plays that he never rehearsed! He tries his best, with hilarious and absurd results.
A Night at the Fights (if our cast is small)
The cast of the local public tv station finds out their beloved show "Great Performances of Classic Plays" is being cancelled, unless they can get their ratings higher. They decided to add fights to scenes that don't normally have them-will they be able to save their show?
Cyrano (if our cast is large)
The classic tale of a man with a large nose, who uses his wit to help the good looking but clumsy Christian win the heart of Roxanne. This is a classic and has great swordplay!
On the first day students receive their scripts. We spend session 1 blocking the play and beginning to learn our lines. Session 2 rehearsals get more involved, and the final performance(s) take place a the end of this session.
FREE: We want the students to perform in December, so they will perform A Night At the Improv! A week before the show we will have an improv only rehearsal.
