ART AND IMPROV (11 to 1PM) Younger Class
We bring a museum created by the students to life! Inspired by classic art works from different periods of history, the students create scenes based on these works. They also create their own pieces inspired by the classics and the art of other students. The final performance is environmental, as the audience visits the 3 galleries of our living museum. It is a little art history presented in a fun theatrical way!
30 PLAYS IN 60 MINUTES (1-3PM) Older Class
Get ready for a rollercoaster ride in the theatre! Students create 30 plays; some quick, some not. The audience receives a menu of the plays, and it is they who dictate the order the plays are performed, and it all happens in under 60 minutes. Fast paced and fun performance!
The free module for the fall is themed America-poets and songs and pieces written about the American experience, or any works by American poets. Similar to what we have done in the past, students will memorize and perform their poem at the end of the session. From America the Beautiful to The New Colossus to Walt Whitman to Maya Angelou, we will cover as much of our history as we can!
Week 1 (October 3rd) we will choose our poems (we meet from 12:15 to 12:30 for the morning group, and 2:30 to 2:45 for the afternoon group). We will then meet again week 6 through 10. The full schedule will be set up once we know there are students interested and attending.
